Old Business
a. Defibrillator:
Judy reported that the defibrillator has been ordered and should arrive soon. A discussion by council members supported an in-service once it arrives to instruct those who will use it. It was suggested that those who should attend would be nurses, a representative from the fire department, the ushers and any parishioners who would be willing to learn the procedure.
b. Report on Mother’s/Father’s Day Receptions:
Arlene stated that over 100 people were served for each of the receptions. Both Arlene and Lorie felt both events were very successful.
c. Evangelization/Discipleship:
Our diocese continues to promote the Discipleship Process. Arlene, Michael and Michael’s sister, Debbie, have agreed to work together to involve our parish. Fr. Jim stated there will be a meeting scheduled soon at which these volunteers will attend.
d. CSA:
Fr. Jim distributed an update on the 2022-2023 Catholic Services Appeal which shows we have surpassed our goal and we have a small amount which will be used toward our new goal for the 2023-2024 campaign. Steve Tarnowski is working on the annual video. Our parish will begin the campaign here on the weekend of September 16-17, 2023.
New Business
a. Summer Picnic/Ice-Cream Social:
The Annual Ice-Cream Social (and Fr. Jim’s birthday celebration) is scheduled for Saturday, August 12th following the 4:00 Mass. All are welcome! Ernie and Angie Harker will again be our chefs for our summer picnic on Sunday, August 20th following 10:30 Mass. The parish will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, chips, and beverages. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass. There will be games as well as Bingo played in the Garden Room.
b. Pictorial Directory:
Fr. Jim announced that we are planning on a Pictorial Directory for the parish. Pictures will be taken November 14-18. Flyers will be sent with our bulletins for registering as well as more information about the directory. Sue Koehler, Angel Booth, and Sue Miller have agreed to chair the event.
c. New Parishioner Registration Table:
Council agreed we should provide an opportunity for interested individuals/families to join our parish. It was decided that the weekends of October 7-8, 14-15, and 21-22 will be set aside for volunteers to welcome and provide information. Michael, Debbie, Judy, Arlene, and Lorie indicated they would be willing to help.

b. Altar Society:
Arlene, co-president, stated that the society’s funds are very low at the present time. There are several events planned which will help increase revenue.
